Hey folks. Just want to pass some things by you.
First and foremost it's been over a month since our last field cleanup. We're in despirate need for a makeover. I'd like to get together maybe on a Sunday morning to go out and do a cleanup before we play in the afternoon. If sunday's not good then maybe on Saturday.
The other topic is...we need building materials. 2x4s, plywood, nails, screws, saws, shovels etc..
My proposal is that we start holding 50/50 draws, just like they would do at your Minor Hockey games and such growing up. Basically we'll sell tickets, and have a person draw a ticket at a specified time in the afternoon and whoever wins gets 50% of the pot. The remainder will go towards buying the materials we need to make our field look a little nicer. This way there's technically no money (atleast in a big amount) out of any one persons pocket....just a couple bucks a week, and you could possibly win enough to buy a case of paint or something.
I'd like some feedback, I'll inquire to city hall if we require a gambling permit for this sort of thing. I dont see there being too much trouble with it, as again, just about every sports organization runs these sorts of things as fundraisers etc, we might be able to get away with it under the same premis.
Why dont we just make a big pot of money. so then all the money we gather go for the field. If you like the game alot im sure you can spare a ten for some material. just think ten people give ten bucks thats already 100$ for the field.

Very true, but more people would be inclined to donate if thre's a chance they'll get something back. It's just the way 50/50's work, know what I mean?
anywhoo I mean wood's cheap....2x4's in 8 foot lengths are like $2.00 each... and we can get some ruff plywood... not like we need a bunch, but damn, we need to do something to bring up the lvl of the field.
